Under the supervision of a physical therapist, performs treatment and provides exercise instruction and demonstrations for patients. Assists the physical therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures. Carries out a program of corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation by a physical therapist. Instructs patients on segments of the program including proper use of wheelchairs, crutches, canes, braces, and prosthetic appliances and devices.
Patient population served: Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric
Experience: One-year of experience preferred.
Education: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program required.
Special qualifications: Valid Physical Therapy Assistant Licensure. Certified to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Outside relationships: Maintains excellent working relationship with sources of referrals and patients.
